Brand audit

After familiarizing myself with the previous actions of technikolor.eu on the internet, I focused on a thorough understanding of the company's current needs and objectives. Based on several key questions, together with the owner, we created a brief that described: 

✅ The profile of the painting shop's customers,
✅ The services offered,
✅ The topics that the website should address,
✅ Main keywords for google search,
✅ And the identity of the technikolor.eu brand.

Workflow

We opted for thoughtful simplicity. No beating around the bush. Short and clear texts that specifically describe the target audience, scope of services, and contact information. As a result, it allows clients to conve niently and quickly acquaint themselves with technikolor.eu. This will undoubtedly enhance the experience of users and prospective customers of the paint shop, as all crucial information is presented clearly. 

The website addresses the main questions: 

Who is the target audience of the painting shop?
What specific services does the painting shop offer?
Where is the powder coating shop located? 
How can customers get in touch for a quote? 

I aimed to create a website that is easy to navigate - one that can be quickly scanned while scrolling. I left ample white space between thematic sections. I decided to forego a traditional gallery of projects, which is updated only once during the website's creation. Instead, Facebook took on this role, becoming a portfolio showcasing the latest projects. 

Design Details 

The website is very simple and easy to navigate. However, I decided to elevate its visual appeal and unleash my creativity in the hero section, adding the cherry on top and leaving my signature. 

The unique nature of the paint shop industry gave me a wide canvas to showcase my skills. Nevertheless, I chose to move away from stock photos of RAL color charts and colorful powders - reminiscent of the Hindu holiday of Holi - which the competition loved.

During a conversation about content marketing, the owner of this company once told me:

"There's no big philosophy here; we simply apply colors to metal."  

And it was precisely this idea that was crucial; I opted for playing with colors and incorporating mini interactions. 

Upon entering the website, you'll be greeted with the black and white logo of the paint shop against a white background. Soon after, black squares appear, followed by words describing the scope of the paint shop's activities. And then, with the last word, everything bursts into color. Hovering over the now colorful squares - which serve as the fundamental shape in the brand's visual identity - reveals a collage of photos related to the topic. 

My intention was to fully capture the character and specificity of the company, a business that adds color to all things made of metal. I also didn't want to overdo it, so the website operates with a few primary colors from the RAL palette. They appear upon hovering the cursor or tapping the finger on the respective square. 

It was a very enjoyable project. The created website will be an important marketing tool, helping the company showcase its services and acquire new clients. It will also provide potential customers with a convenient way to familiarize themselves with the company's services and get in touch for additional information or a quote.
